Try doing a search on the web for a lawyer specializing in tickets in the area you got popped. I hate that they can use the "pacing" excuse. It's such BS. It takes at least 1/4mi for them to get an accurate speed by pacing you. Most of the time it's wrong.

I got one similar to that in WA. He claimed to have been pacing me for at least a mile (that is the standard for pacing up there) from 8 cars behind me.... and the interstate was pretty full. The F-ed up thing with the ticket was there were cars passing me in the fast lane and he pulled ME over!! He was a total asshole and tried to site me for not having stock turn signals (which there is nothing in the regulations that state that) and a few other things. I took it to court and explained my situation to the judge and he threw everything out but the speeding but gave me "probation" or whatever they call it so I wouldnt have points on my licence.

I would look into the laws and see what you can do. If its your first, a lot of times the judges will dismiss it or just make you pay the fine. Usually, lawyers are as much, if not more, than the tickets. Although it is worth it if you win and it doesnt make your insurance go through the roof.

Good Luck man!!

CHP has been using "pacing" as a method of judging speed for years. But as Pat said, find a lawyer local to that jurisdiction and have him fight the ticket. Sorry you got popped.

Here's some resources:

http://www.ticketassassin.com/ - How to fight tickets in CA.

http://www.speedingticketcentral.com...ng-ticket.html - Provides an explaination of various CA ticketing methods and ways to fight them.

http://www.traffic-ticket-attorney.com/ - A CA attorney (all jurisdictions) I found via Google. (no personal experience)

Yeah bro sorry you got that ticket in Cali. When I lived in Rancho Cucamonga and my friends got tickets on the 15 it was pretty expensive. I hope you can find somebody that can help you.

I just got a ticket on the 215 beltway/Aliante at 6:00am in the morning about two weeks ago. I had just got on the 215 from the gas station and maybe got to 75/80 (somewhere around there) and he pulled me over about 1/2 down the beltway. I really didn't notice my speed becuase I wasn't in a hurry to work and just started the ride. The speed limit on the beltway is 55 but eveytbody seems to do 65-75mph, but he ended up giving me the ticket for 65 in a 55. He was a cool cop didn't give me any crap or nothing, but he had to throw in that he would of let me off with a warning if I was going 5mph slower. And it was the same thing "HE PACED ME" for a 1/4mile. I've called the number for the ticket serveral times and its not in the system yet, so I have no clue how much it will be. It jsut sucked becuase I really wasn't speeding; you know if I was would of been speeding in my eyes I would be going around 95-100 out on the 95 to Indian Springs or other stupid stuff....I was just on my way to work minding own business....the cops there always there when you don't need them.

This is my first ticket since the River run in 04 which since they gave out so many tickets that weekend that all I had to do was pay 120 dollars right away and there wouldn't be any points on my record for it. Me and my body from the Nellis Club got it for going 95 in the twisties right out side of Laughlin on the ride down. It was so funny I knew there would be cops out there and so did he, but we did it anyways. Its was too nice to resist, and no sh** they pulled us over from coming the other direction.

Anyways he said I should be able to do traffic school online, so now I have somthing to do at work in the near future other then playing the games on this site.

Good luck and watch out for the man!

I went to that website and sent them a discription of what happen and how much. They called me back 30 minutes later and they took down the court and said they will go to court for me. They are going to try to knock it down to a parking ticket with no points free of charge. This is great....thanks for the hook up. I'll let you know what happens this. Thanks again.
