for my gsxr1000 I was planning on getting spiegler steel braided brake lines with EBC brake pads and eventually getting new galfer rotors. Would this be good for track use? Any other suggestions? any idea where I can get a good deal on these parts?

the lines and pads are just fine. The rotors, truthfully aren't really necessary. Stock rotors will do a great job as they are. The lines are great for increased feel, response, less fade and shorter stop times. The pads are great for shorter stop times, but come with the consequence of squeaking. as for a deal, just shop around.

Would galfer pads be better?

not really. any high performance pad for the most part will be a little bit louder and create a bit more brake dust. you wont hear it when you just start braking, it is more audible when you are only going a couple mph

FYI: I usually email Mike at White Buffalo Racing, http://www.whitebuffaloracing.com/default.asp and get his price before I buy most anything. He's a racer out at Willow Springs and has some of the best prices of anybody because he has a small overhead and he will give racers a discount.
He started this little business to help pay for his racing addiction a few years back and is always set up with his mobil shop at Willow on the monthly race weekends,(every third weekend of the month). If any of the racers need something while at the track, he's the one that they go to.

I also give him the first shoot because I believe in supporting any one that races, it gets expensive to do it. Give him a try and see for yourself. He doesn't stock everything but he can get most anything you want just ask him.

Jerry
