Perforated or non? Why? I was thinking of investin in a leather jacket for winter...but I can't decide between a well vented full leather or a slight perforated leather: http://www.newenough.com/protective_...le_jacket.html vs http://www.newenough.com/protective_...le_jacket.html

You know, living out there, you will never have the perfect piece to cover all your needs. I have a JR perf leather and during the winter I would use the liner it came with. But that was never enought on the really cooler days when on the bike. BUt it def came in handy on those days when it is cooler in the AM and much warmer later in the day. So as far as leather goes, the perf jackets are more versatile... As stated b4, a cortech would do well for those colder days, or maybe even a textile/leather Kevlar/leather combo. Your main concern will def have to be what type of protection you want and how much of it you are willing to sacrifice... I hope this info is helpful. It is always easier to layer up and down if you have a flexible setup....

Since you now have a summer jacket, I'd say non-perforated, but with zippered vents. This will cover winter and a little bit of spring/fall. The textile jacket you have will work when it's too warm for the leather, but too cool for the mesh. EDIT: Forgot to add... although I think the Joe Rocket one would make more sense, I'd suggest trying one on before you order. The Firstgear will probably fit like your mesh jacket since their probably cut the same.

I'd go with the Joe Rocket you chose.
