So i go in there today to kind of shoot some numbers around with the sales guy and Ive got some solid numbers already from shopping around online,so I have my eye on the 2007 GSXR orange and black 1000, so this guys tells me that its going for 12,000. before all there fees mind you that this bike was 10,500 at the 1st of the month. So I tell him that I can get this bike for 9390. out the door in Barstow, He tells me that it dont matter to the company if I dont want it cause they know that someone will come along and pay them 12,000. plus the fees so I look at him like you have got to be kidding , Carter Motorsports looks at Vegas buyers as either desperate or just plain stupid. Im not sure, but I thanked him for the conversation and I left, I think we need to show these dealers that they dont own the MC market. If any one here goes to this place be aware that they look at you in this way and you should just leave. In my opinion Carter Motorsports needs some new people skills and sales skills to its public.

If you can get the bike for $9390 out the door in Barstow, then jump on that deal ASAP. Granted, $12K is a bit steep...but Carter wouldn't be able to get near that price. If they're asking $12K, then evidently someone is paying it.

thats horrible. vegas dealers treat there consumer like crap and the sad thing is that they can and do get away with it. As much as this guy sounded like a dick head he is correct. they can sell it to the next guy for 12g plus fees. why would they sell it to you for 10 when they can get 12? i personally dont think that we can change there minds on it. there are too many idiots out there that pay it all day long

I always thought that LA CycleSports was the place to get the best price on bikes. But when I bought my St1300, they were being total pricks about it, and then Honda of Las Vegas beat thier price by $300 and ordered the bike for me directly from Honda because they didnt have one in stock. Took a week to get it, but thats cool... I called Carter about one, they didnt have one, said they would try to find one and then never even called me back. Kinda sad cause I've bought several bikes from them in past few years, but that was when Julian still worked there. | |

That goes for American Iron also. LVHD should be called LVDH (betcha can't guess what that stands for... ) AND that goes for cage dealershits too as far as I'm concerned.

I believe there is a carter powersports user on this site, or 702, go to them and report your problem, they seem pretty helpful on the 702 site. When i was looking for my first new bike (my 05) some kid there tried pressuring me on getting the 1000k for my first bike. Then also, quoted me 11+ on my 750, and i went to ride now on carter and got it for 10,200. Dont like their bus strategies at all.

I got an idea gang, lets all pitch in, lets get our own store. We will have certified techs WE KNOW how to work on the bikes. And we wont pressure newbs into getting themselves killed on bikes that are to powerfull for them, we will also provide a free mfs course included in every bike sale. what is that 300? big woop for some of you big shop owners. Better then having some angry parents coming to the store wondering who sold there son or daughter a bike a professional or seasonal rider should ONLY be riding. Theres a good idea for all you shops out there. it will be the perfect customer experience. some of these shops should take heed to these ideas.

If Megabucks would cooperate, I'd open a shop like that.

That sucks about what happened but I had a great experience in there when I bought my 07 honda 450. They had a sale price of $6300, plus fees of course, and an out the door price of like $8800. That wasn't going to fly obviously so after going back and forth b/w me and the sales mgr only 2 times they settled on $7400 out the door. I had to jump on a deal like that, it's only $400 over msrp.

| I'd even be willing to pay slightly more for a NON-RideNot bike.
