So, one of the companies I contract my work for sent me this really cool invitation to go stay at this hotel for 3 days. Since I'm most likely going by myself, I figure why not ride my bike there? So I'm looking for some good, scenic route suggestions. Yes I know I can get suggestions from some websites, but I'm looking for personal recommendations. So, did you ride there? How did you go? What was really cool about the route that you took to get there? | |

Too bad I didn't know about this until now. I would have ridden down there with you. I'll be in San Fran from the 11/10-11/15 for Oracle Open World. I've never done that ride, though.

| I'd have to talk Joyce into it as well. She'll be accompanying me until that Monday evening. I'd love to check that hotel out, though. Sausalito is beautiful.

Once you get there: Head up over Mount Tamapalais, Down the other side to Stinson Beach, Up the coast to Point Reyes (when the road turn inland from the bay...put on your race face!!), Up the 1 to Tomales Petaluma Rd, Turn right on Chileno Valley Rd, Turn right on Wilson Hill Rd, Tun Left on Hicks Valley Road, Right on Point Reyes-Petaluma Rd, Left on Platform Bridge Road, Left on Sir Francis Drake, Right on Fairfax Bolinas Rd (stop and check out the dam at alpine lake), Turn left at West Ridgecrest (they film car commercials here), Left on Panoramic High way and then back into the city.... The next day head up through Santa Rosa on the 101, Get off at Dry Creek Road (maybe 10 miles past Santa Rosa) Take that till it goes along the dam, turn left on Stewarts Point skaggs Springs Road (the fisrt half is the best road in all of California) Turn up the coast to the 128, Take that back to the 101, and head back to the hotel. Man I love that area!

I managed to make it to Santa Barbara and back on an fzr 600 and would not do that ever again. Downright painful by the time I got there. Now on a litre or larger bike sounds like a fun trip. Just ride safe and take lotso pics.

| sorry about that * joking * I'm sure it was a great ride. Next June me and some friends are riding up to the NW corner of Washington state, then riding down the coastline to San Diego. The entire western coastline.
