I was reading my sport rider a while back and that got me to thinking. What is your all time greatest bike?

I was first going to say I'm a huge fan of the 03 GSXR.... But I'm thinking I would go with the Busa.... it has it all...

kawasaki zx-14. stock has 32% more power than the busa. has better fit for us tall and heavy guys. so my choice would be the new 2008 zx-14. also I should have one by the spring.

HOw can an unoriginal bike like the..... Nevermind... Everyone has a right to their own opinion..... I own a Busa and put it a close second to the 03 GSXR 750, IMHO the best Pound for pound bike ever made to date..... Third would have to be an MV Agusta......

1979 RD400 Daytona Special. My first new bike. Unfortunately, it was stolen before I could put chambers on it. I also had an 84 RZ350, it's a toss up between the two.

Doc, that bike owned your bank account.

For me, I would say that the greatest bike of all time is the Gixxer slingshot. It changed the way bikes would be forever be manufactured.

More like 7% more power. (163whp vs. 175whp)

And that's only if you're talking about the 99-07 Busas. The new '08 Busa is putting out anywhere from 175 to 180whp depending on the dyno.

Back on topic, I have to put my totally unbiased vote in for the first-gen Busa as well. It went virtually unchanged for nine model years and it still put down some hard to beat performance numbers. It defined the hypersport genre of bikes and has comfort and handling to boot. And it is probably the most customized and recognizable bikes to ever hit the street.

My first bike was an rd-250, and yes for the cc's crazy faast.

I am a fan of the R1's obviously. The performance styling and handling are top notch in my book. The 07' is a better performer but one of my all time favorites was the 03 R1 le, dressed in flames on black. MMmmMM

Hyosung(sp) are better than most of the older bikes you guys throwing out there..... I know some of the answers are biased based on personal exp with them, bt if you have to kick start it, it not the best bike ever...... If it does no exceed 100mph it is not the best bike ever...... If the suspension is not adjustable, it is not the best bike ever.... If I never heard of it, it is not the best bike ever..........

If it was made b4 I was born, it is not a bike..........

I kid, I kid........ Love you guys/gals..... You too Stace.....

Obviously, if you're not looking at it in the context of "for it's time", then some new '08 GP bike is going to be the best bike ever. I'm assuming street legal and am comparing to what was available at the time the bike was new.

I wish I was so lucky, I started on a mini-bike my Dad built with a Briggs and Stratton engine... I was riding that BEFORE I knew how to ride a bicycle. I lusted after my friends Honda Trail 70... around 1982, my Dad got me a Suzuki RM125, and life as I knew it changed

All depends on how you define "greatest". To me it means having the biggest impact on the industry when it was introduced. Maybe to some it means "fastest" or "most technologically advanced". Not to me.

If by "Best" you mean the best use of ripped-off design styles. Then yes it is.

I was just messing around, but it hardly seems a rip-off with a single sided swing arm and tele-lever (?) front end... I've never seen anything quite like that BMW.

I am still in the Hayabusa camp for best all-around bike.
