I TOOK David’s original design and made some changes to it. I may still do some tweaking, but here are 2 examples of what I came up with

My thoughts are to have this logo on one side of the business card and the info on the other.

What I need from you guys is what you think should be on the back side of the card.

Post up!

First of all there needs to be contact info of course. Probably the website address as well. Maybe if you thought it would be better, leave a line or space for us to write in our numbers so 1 card would be good for all of us to pass out. Any other idea's on this?>

We have the entire back side of the card to use. The contact info is a given...I am thinking more of tags lines, and descriptions of what we do

instead of we are a family too....how bout "We have families too"

we are a family of riders? like there is a family of car drivers? no. Car drivers are not a family. they are the enemy. If they REALLY were a family they wouldnt drive the way they do. Maybe "we have families too" will make them realize hey, this dood might have kids, would hate to take their daddy away..etc..

I thought it was more of an orange color, like the center divider. I'm also not sure about having a second tag line on back - it'll be easier for people to remember us if we just use one. A generic sentence or two about what we do might work.

I'm with Arson. "we have families too"
Unless there is a different point your making that I dont understand. If that is the case others may not get it either.

I believe the periods should be removed from the M.A.R.S. name. Most organizations (AMA, WERA, NCAA, CCS, NAACP, AARP) when using an acronym don't use the periods... it just looks cleaner.

How about:

"Have you seen us?"

"We are family"

Meet our family"

"Join our family"

Both are good and both have a different meaning. One is a sign of solidarity and community. The other kind of a reality check statement. I think they are both relavent.

They is actually a purpose behind this. I would agree that not only is it gramatically correct, but visually cleaner to not use periods within the acronym. Here is the issue. What do you think about when you see the word Mars? Usually a planet and maybe candy...not a motorcycle safety organization. I think the periods indicate that our M.A.R.S. is an acronym and not the red planet. Just my opinion

I think this would be a great quote for the top of the back side of the card. Now we need a few bullet points to add I.E.

*Online M/C safety resourses
*Live riding demonstartions

etc.

Sorry those aren't so good, I am between jobs trying to get some of this done.

I hear ya... but the capitalization of each letter is what sets "Mars" and "MARS" apart. Kinda like BART and Bart. (for you Bay Area folks) Also, the cards have the full qualifcation of the acronym on them. Just a thought...

Actually, I think your right E, with the acronym spelled out, I don't think there will be issues. Wanna try one without the periods Pat, just to see if it looks right?

Sorry, I am in L.A. until Friday on business until friday and we have just about every person and piece of equipment out on Saturday, so no more experimentation until Sunday late pm at the earliest.

I am going to take a high angle shot of the street with my digital slr while I am out here. I am going to replace the computer generated background with actual asphalt and painted line to see how it looks.

ok , i know it's a bit..(completly) off topic, but here is an event held by the police dept, which I think would be great for MARS or M.A.R.S.

Quote:
Hi Loic,

Absolutely yes. We will be inviting the public to attend, free of charge, to watch the event and meet some of the best police motorcycle riders in the country. This event is a way of testing our ability and have a friendly competition, along with some training. It also is a fund raising event for Special Olympics Nevada. So, spread the word and please plan on making it a day, Saturday April 5th, starting at 0700 with the opening ceremony, the mayor will be there, and many vendors and other displays.
thanks for your interest,

O.K., here is the front side of the card. I also posted the picture I used for the card. I took it from a overpass in Long Beach. It is part of the front straight during the Long Beach Grand Prix

BTW I corrected the spelling of word resource. The word mentorship was changed to mentors. according to my spell checker mentorship is not a word. I guess I could go with mentor ship.

The cards will be done by Monday. I will have cards to give everyone by next week.

I have the banner as well. It was based on the old design, but should suffice for a while.
