I faxed the local network TV stations already. I need people to send this out to print and radio stations. Just copy and paste the press release below. I also posted the ride on 2 community calenders, but their are a lot of those on the web. I need help! MARS Motorcycle Awareness and Rider Safety Contact: Pat Harris FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Tel. 702/365-9526 Cell Phone: 702/277-3794 Email: vegasvideo@hotmail.com MEMORIAL RIDE TO HONOR FALLEN RIDER GLEN MCINTOSH The Ride is to Benefit Motorcycle Awareness and Rider Safety Organization That Was Founded in His Honor. On Sunday February 3rd, riders from all over the country will get together to honor Fallen rider Glen “Gleno” McIntosh. The event is being put together by Sin City Sportbikes with proceeds going to Motorcycle Awareness and Rider Safety. Registration opens at 9am at Cycle Gear 6280 S Pecos Rd. The ride will start promptly at 10am and head to Hemenway Park, Us Highway 93 & Ville Dr in Boulder City. There will be a BBQ at the park until 1pm. Members of MARS will be onsite to show their support and promote rider safety. Why is Sin City Sportbikes doing a memorial ride this Sunday? On Tuesday February 6th, 2007 tragedy struck the club when its President Glen “Gleno” McIntosh was killed in a motorcycle accident leaving a 2 Wheel Tuesday event. 2 Wheel Tuesdays are generally social only events. There is no club business, just hanging out. This Tuesday was different though. Gleno had received news that a rider had been seriously injured when a semi lost it’s load, right in front of him on the I15. No one in the club knew the rider, but everyone felt they should try to help in some way. That night Gleno was rallying the club and guests to participate in a blood drive to help the injured rider. He explained how it was our duty as a motorcycling community, or as he put it “a family”, to get together and help out. That evening Gleno left the parking lot on the way home. A fellow member was right behind him. It was a clear night and the road was clear and well lit. That is when tragedy struck. A woman in a van blew a stop sign right in Gleno’s path. As experienced and skilled a rider as he was, he just didn’t have enough time to stop. Glen McIntosh was pronounced dead that evening. He was wearing all the right protective gear that night, as he always did. That was not enough to save his life. The police report states that he was traveling 43 mph in a 45 mph zone. Even though it was determined to be 100% her fault, the driver of the van received, what amounts to, a slap on the wrist. She received no jail time, a $1,000 fine and probation. She still has drivers license. Gleno did nothing wrong that evening. He lost his life because someone decided they didn’t need to pay attention to their driving. Since then, several other riders have suffered the same fate. In fact, 2007 was one of the worst years on record for motorcycle fatalities in Las Vegas. From this tragedy arose MARS (Motorcycle Safety and Rider Awareness). Headed up by the Sin City Sportbikes member, Patrick Harris, this grass roots effort has set out to make a change. This ride is just the first step in many to try to raise motorcycle safety and awareness. Photos will be available in Jpeg format.

Does anyone have the printed flyers? I haven't heard anything about them since we changed the location. I was going to post them at every dealership, but today and Thursday are my only free days before the ride.
