I'll be home in about a week and a half and hopefully have all my shit by mid March. The AF put the bike in storage so the first thing is to hope it's all in one piece. What would be the best route to get her up and running correctly and ready for sale? Obviously some new skins but any other suggestions. I never did get the PCIII tuned/dynoed for it so would the best route be to take it in to Racer's Edge and have them clean it all out?

Did you storage prep the bike before hand? I stored the same bike on two different occasions when I went overseas but I only prepped it once. I drained the gas and oil and that was it. Didn't disconnect the battery or anything else but when I got the bike back and put gas/oil in it again, it started up on the first try, no problems. There's something to be said about Honda reliability If the bike wasn't in bad shape to begin with, and you storage prepped it, it should be okay. If not, you should really only need to look at the general tune up items like changing the oil, coolant, gas (if you didn't use a gas stabilizer) and possibly the plugs/battery. Depending on where the bike was stored, you might want to give your hoses a good looking over as well in case they have started to crack. Save some money and do what you can yourself.

what kid of bike are we talkin here, and as asked by R3K, what storage prep did you do prior to? lastly, when was the last tuneup and what was done? mileage and maintenance history? generally, if the fuel has stabilizer in it, you'll just need to change the oil, clean and wax the chain, check tire pressure, and check coolant level. but you may want to do more based on the previous maintenance record, especially if you're prepping it for sale. | |

Sorry I've been in the process of moving. It's an 04 gix 1000. Done all the MX aspects as far as the oil changes and what not. Drained the gas tank before putting it in storage and some stabil in it. It has a little more then 4K miles on it and I've ran it through Utah and a couple of times on the track.

| Quote: i'd just change the oil, fill it up with fresh gas, and take her out for 50 miles or so. if you want to increase sale value, flushing the brake fluid, coolant, and changing the fork oil would help if you havent done those things in the past 2 years. | |

If you want it dynoed and gone over, I'd definitely recommend seeing Steve at Las Vegas DynoTech. Good guy, great mech and dyno tuner.
