I know some of you sport bike folks can get down pretty far.... but what is the max. degree you can lean it before it goes out from under you?

I look at my bike, it's a heavy son of a gun.... about 650 lbs. Now keep in mind, I am the biggest wimp when it comes to corners on this thing.... so I scrape my boards the other day.... not the first time, but also not a common thing for me, and I am out having a smoke and looking at the bike from the front, I'm thinking that is a pretty far way to lean that big thing.

Just kinda made me think of this so I thought I would ask where that point would be.

It would depend on your speed and conditions.

Oh yeah, beat this..I had my entire back down....While sliding about 200 feet, behind my bike, until I hit a curb and stopped.. I wouldn't recommend trying it, take my word for it, it takes a while for road rash to go away..lol

Far enough to get knees/pegs down. After that I'm afraid the stock suspension parts would reject further abuse.

In perfect or near-perfect conditions the MotoGP guys are reaching 57° lean angles. I read that Michelin claims a 60° max lean angle with their GP tires but that doesn't mean much to us because only the immortals can get those tires.

Tire technology has come a long way. The racing tires of just 7 years ago are comparable to the crappy tires the factory puts on your 2008 bike today.

Eric, you're like 7' tall, (I'm a short f$#ker) I bet you could throw a knee down going straight!! J/K. I still need to get to the track to see how far down I get. I mess around a little here and there, but I want to be someplace without worrying about getting hit by cages.

WOW!!!! what more can you say? I mean that doesn't seem physically possible but I guess it is.

I think that is my problem... with the weight of my bike, I cannot imagine it possible to lean real far..... It just seems like it wants to slide out from under me.

Yeah Syrup, me too.... LOL.
