Lisa...

Just got the message on here (just got internet back!) about Will. I'm really sorry to hear it and I'm sure he'll pull through fine. It'll take a lil' bit, as you said, but he'll be right as rain soon! Give him my very best, and to you as well for hangin' in there. If there is anything I can help with, please let me know and I'd be glad to help. Be sure to take care of both of you and I hope to see you two very soon!

Just checkin in...

I feel much better the past 24 hours. Got some new scripts for some pain patch thingys that go right over my broken ribs, they seem to work ok. Takes most of the pain out of breathing. Slowly getting some strength back, almost able to sit up in bed by myself (almost!)

Pretty much going nuts with the loss of memory issues. Last thing I remember was pulling over on the side of the road with Angel when her backpack came unzipped and all it's contents started spilling out. Next thing I remember is asking the paramedics where the fuck are we going (this was while being transported to the 2nd hospital) and then arguing that no I didnt have an accident. The next few days is kinda of a blur with not much memory until the day before coming home from the hospital.

Just wanted to tell you guys thanks for the help at the accident scene, the well-wishes, the visits, phonecalls, and PM's you guys rock

And Wheatie, you are the best, period. No matter what happens, you are by my side offering as much comfort and support as you can. And this isnt the first time. You are truly the best thing thats ever happened to me, and I love you far more than I could ever express. I'm sorry I'm a prick sometimes but I'll try to do better. I promise.

I'll try to check back in more often. I quite a bit or work/pain getting up the stairs to my office and the monitors make me see double and make my eyes burn.

Bye for now

Wow, I am so sorry to hear of your accident. It is great to see you writing and recovering. You are lucky to have Wheatie's support and encouragement, it really shows here as well !

Take good care, and do what the Doc tells ya. Not sure if you need any bike help, but I got a huge garage with a lift if you want to take care of any of it in B.C. when you are feeling better.

Get well'er soon!

I know you're busted up and all. I gotta ask though. You going to be at the track this weekend for CCS?

Seriously, heal up! Good to hear you are recovering.

I think the pain meds do more harm than good. Sure I dont hurt when I take them but I feel drunk & stupid all the time and cant think or concentrate, cant control my mood swings and wake up depressed. So fukk all that, I'd rather hurt when I breathe and have a clear head the rest of the time. Plus my appetite has come back somewhat, lost 25 pounds in 2 weeks and not sure thats a good thing.

That is amazing. I would hate to see how much a helicopter would have cost.

I didnt get the best news from the Dr today.

Looks like my collar bone is pretty badly broken and is more seperated now than when it first broke, and it hasnt even began healing. The Dr wants to give it three more weeks to see if it begins to heal, and if not he recommends surgery to put in steel plates & screws to hold it together. Now I'm not Dr but what was on the x-ray was painfully obvious and I think its got a slim chance on going back together on its own, but I hope it does. Also discovered a broken finger, I just had them put a splint on it instead of trying to set it when its already been broke for three weeks.

I will say that if everytime I crash one of these bikes I have to have surgery to get plates and screws inserted in my skeleton somewhere, that I probably wont be too interested in continuing this hobby that I've enjoyed off & on for the past 26 years. At some point you just have to say enough is enough and I'm pretty close to that point right now. The last time, the surgery was by far much more painful than the broken knee was, and so was the physical therapy that followed. I've tried to maintain a positive attitude thru all this but the news today was like a huge load of bricks being dumped on me, I really did not want to hear the words 'surgery' mentioned.

I'll find out what happens next on September 21st.

Sorry to hear that Will.

I know you're kind of down on riding right now but, I got my 5 plates and 10 screws from being in a cage accident. I can't say I don't have a fear from being in a vehicle because I still do even after three years. You are more protected in a cage, but shit still happens. Your thoughts might changed after you're healed. Keep your chin up.

Hey there Mr. Pheer...

You might be surprised how your mind changes when you have a shiny, brand new toy sitting in your driveway after you've healed up. I wish you the absolute best and you never know...your collarbone might heal up. Even after all this time with modern medicine and such, the body still does amazing things on it's own. Either way...all of us are pullin' for ya bro!

Today is the 2 month anniversary of my accident. I cant say time flies, its been a long 2 months for me.

Most of my injuries are healed. Only things still bothering me is the collar bone (still broken) and some stiffness in my right hand. Other than that, I feel great. I'm working out in the mornings now and yes I'm back on 2 wheels. I didnt quit riding even though I thought about it for a day or two. Took me 58 days but I got back on the steel horse and its like nothing ever happened. I'm riding a VTX1300 (a cruiser) and I'll be sending my bent fork tubes for my Interceptor off to be repaired next week so I'll be back on a sportbike shortly.

Out of all the injuries that I had, the post concussion syndrome bothered me the most. The other injuries just hurt, but the PCS really messed with my head, no pun intended. My personality changed, my memory didnt work right anymore, I couldnt concentrate, was constantly fatigued, and the smallest things would piss me off beyond belief. Things that normaly wouldnt have bothered me. And there was nothing I could do about it but give it time to get better. Sometimes it was like watching someone else. So if I've acted weird or hurt someone's feelings in the past couple of months, please dont take it personaly because I really didnt mean to do it. I'm glad it seems to be over and I feel like myself again.

I'm putting the past two months behind me and looking forward to what lays ahead... tech day, rides, TWT, maybe a MotoGP party? Damn the weather is great right now.

Well thats the Status on Pheer. Now that I'm pretty much back to normal, I'm going to be riding as much as I can. And I'm damned glad to be here

Pheer,
My other bike is a Valkyrie! If you need someone to cruise with, I'm there to ride!

Hey, we can drag pegs on big cruisers too! You don't even have to lean that far!
