Just got back from a weekend in Malibu riding some of the best roads on the west coast. Jarrod and I took our 1000's and ripped through Stunt Rd, Mullholand, Paiuma, Palomar, Latigo and Decker Canyon before a break and then Angeles Crest. I just wanted to say that I have ridden all those roads before on my 750 and the new 1000 is awsome , the low end torque is great, I did the whole of Decker Canyon and Latigo Canyon in 2nd gear, but upwards and downwards. Coming down from Newcombes Ranch and those high speed sweepers was just as much fun, 4th and 3rd gear smooth roads and little traffic. All in all almost 400 miles of twistie safe fun, no-one crashed, no-one got a ticket, although I must say the stock tires are crap, I'm going to get me some Pilot Powers as soon as possible. You guys in So-Cal have it made living near those roads. Moral of this story, the new Gixxer 1000 feels smaller than my 04 750 but with all the low end torque, the front brakes are just as good too, however they did fade a little after going down Decker, up Palomar and across to Stunt. Glad I have some braded lines to put on this week. Moisty

I have to concur on those roads. That's were I ride when I visit So Cal. Some SWEET riding! That Gixxer 1K must have been in it's element for sure!
