I dont get the drifting sport either.....

I prefer to call it " couldn't find the apex of the corner with a map , GPS and a protractor "

;)

guess it sounds better than " missed apexing "

You dont have a clue do you , actually the clipping point is set at the Apex . Scoring is dont on many things , angle , speed , clipping point smoke etc etc. Seeing it live is one thing , its truly amaizing how talented these guys are , doing it , is just freaking nuts. Its a blast trying to control a car that is technically out of control , i suck at it , and its tempting to get another car and start again , im sure i can get good . Her is a pic of my in my R32 out in japan on Nago Circuit.

Believe me bro , I have a clue , and its way more fun , easier on the car and the tires to actually drive thru the corner. Logged many miles with SCCA , I am sure it is a fun sport , looks spectacular and I am sure there is a huge learning curve to do it right , but it is certainly not for me.

I saw a vid of some guys drifting on sport bikes , now that is beyond insane :)

Definatly keeping grip and railing threw a corner is faster , but drifting is not racing , yes they need to maintain speed but its all about the other factors and style. I didnt really understand or appreciate it till i got involved in it.
But for all the haters,a nd people who dont understand, you should check it out. Just like racing there is a lot of chassis prep , tuning , suspension etc etc involved. Then the skill is just unreal.

It's not only easier on the car and tires to maintain traction through the corner, it's faster in most situations.

But it sure looks cool. I would have checked them out if I wouldn't have been in UT having fun in the twisties.

points well taken fellas , I will make sure to check the next one out. Anf heck if it attracts the hot chicks like it appears to per the vids online , why not ??

I hope to have my bike DL by then ( riders safety course on July 28th thru 30th ) and then to replace the bike I sold years ago.
