Speaking of technology.....we have the tech to put men in space, do more electronically than ever imagined, etc.

Why can we not go out and break up hurricanes that we know are gonna destroy land and lives, causing billions of dollars of damage each year.

Why??

Hey lets send AIRWOLF over a hurricane or tornado and have it drop dynamite in the centers and see if that works! *

I think a tornado could be broken easier than a hurricane. A hurricane oftenhas a 100 mile circumfrence.

i dont think we can blame mothernature! if we would stop building in places we shouldn't be in. examples Ca, Wa and other states on the west coast, if you build a house on the side of a mountain its always a chance that your house will be a victim of a mudslide. if your house is out in the middle of the grassland there is a chance your house will burn down. FL= look what happens when you try to build houses in the everglades/swampland shit just dont mix. also when you want to build on the beach its only a matter of time before your house will be floating away. La= (i do feel for all the people in the lower states that got hit by katrina) but when we build under sea level its only a matter of time before that land will be under water. thats my little spin on the world. (one day i will have a big house on a hill somewhere but i will have skies on mine)

Far more natural disasters in the South and mid west than in Cali. Cali has a big one every 15 or 20 years. There is hurricane and torrnado damage every year on the other side of the U.S. You generally know, when you live in a certain area what the risks are. If they are too big, move. Here we have heat and the occasional flash flood and a few high winds...that's it. So next time we complain about 110 degree heat, just remember Katrina.

BTW We are probably 50-100 years from being able to control weather. But I am sure we will figure that out eventually.

We may be more far advanced than ever before, but maybe controlling something like the weather is just to advanced for us right now. It could be said the same for many things. We are so far advanced yet we can't cure cancer? Diabetes? AIDS? We can't find an alternative as easy as gasoline? We can clone animals and whatever else, but there are still people starving in the world?

Good points Greggie. Good to see you using the melon. I feel medical cures are surely available. No question. However, there's $$$ in NOT curing cancer, AIDS, diabetes and such. Just ask your gov rep. He'll be happy to lie to you.
