Having a bit of an issue here.

Bike sat for a few weeks, went to take it for a ride, battery was too low to turn over the engine, so I pop started it. Made it to the light outside my place and the whole bike shuts off. Take it apart, I blew the 30 amp fuse for the starter solenoid. I replace the fuse and the battery is still too dead to start, so I decide to go buy a new battery (was still running the original so it was time to go). starts up fine with the new battery, idles for about 10 to 15 seconds, the second I touch the throttle, fuse blows again.

Ive been checking for shorts but so far no luck.

any ideas??

Regulator/rectifier... just a guess at this point. My bad one took out those exact components; the starter fuse and battery. Time to break out the service manual and multimeter.

This. Get your multimeter out and see what your voltage is at the battery when it is at idle. Anything above 14.5-15 volts is a bad reg/rec for sure.
