The pads are totally shot on the R1. I picked up a new set of pads. grabbed a socket set and promptly snapped a socket on the caliper bolt and fouled up the bolt. I went out and bought a heavier duty set and now the bolt head is stripped completly. Now being pissed off I used vice grips and still no go. It is freakin frozen in there. Any ideas on how to get it out? Or anyone want to try a hand at it? I can pay a few bucks for a little help.

Try heat as well, if possible. Heat that bolt up nice and hot with a butane torch before you have at it. Just watch the flammables. Like the WD-40. Seriously.

Thanks all. I got it off. When I took the bike in for the estimate the guys at D&S cycle broke it free for me. Now with that done, I changed out the pads and it looks like the master cylinder is blown. G-Damn thieves. Pisses me off to no end.

I'm still on for the RR loop tonight though. Meet up at 6:15 or so at the overlook.
