Lets get a vote from the members to see if we should bring back the "Ride Captain" position to the club.

I would also like some feedback, if you have any, as to why you think it should or shouldn't be a position with the club..

This is not a bad idea, after the cluster we had on the turkey run, I hope part of there job will be to select a route, and make sure that at the very least the leader knows where we are going....

What if the Ride Captain isn't present?

Bottom line, whoever plans any SCS group ride needs to ensure that a pre-ride briefing is done, and all riders are familiarized with the basics of group riding.

thats exactly right eric and that was one of the main reasons for getting rid of the ride captain position. people just let that duty fall on the ride captain and if the ride captain didnt plan a ride the whole club was was crying because we didnt do enough rides. In another thread arson stated what he believed to be the ride captains duties and quite frankly those are things listed are what the sergeant of arms is for.

I knew I had heard this before, but I wasn't sure if it was all in my head. Thank you.
