There is a post out here about speed violation in the local fed parks.. I know we want to project a better image of SB'ers to society... So here it is..

I say we put together a "CASUAL" ride to our parks (Red Rock, VOF, Lake Meade) in one day.. When I say casual, I mean the speed limit and make sure we are seen by every Ranger and patron in the parks.. This ride does not have to be limited to members, but we need to make sure everyone is one the same page when we leave for the ride. I think this would be a good step in one of our goals as a club and as a "community"..
What do you all think????? I think this will work. Or at least let them know we paying attention. Rebelling can be done in many ways........

I def want to participate so this will have to be after I get the Busa back together...

I rather just not go into the Lake at all. Maybe this will cause them to let go a few Rangers sense they wont get our money anymore, who knows

That's a great idea, but there has to be publicity included. More than just a few rangers need to know what we are doing. It needs to get out to the general public. I know it may seem like an unusual tactic, but press releases need to be sent out, photos submitted and even video if they won't send out a crew.

You can make something like this news worthy. Just like anything else positive we do (I.E. what we did today). If we do something positive, we have to let the whole world know what we are doing. It's called good P.R.! To date the local motorcycling community has done a pretty piss poor job in that area.

If you want help organizing the ride, I am there!

Not going does nothing... At least not in the immediate future. It would take years of boycotting to put enough of a dent in the budget for them to notice... But if we stop they win...

A ride through at the posted speed limit doesn't hurt us at all (Just takes some of our time), but we may be able to cause enough of a stir to make someone think about the fines and unwanted focus on Bikers in General.

Like I said, I think max participation and Pats ideas would help us out on this one..

It only takes one voice to make a difference..... We say we want to change the views of the public of Sportbikers, I think this would be a prime opportunity.

I want to prove to them that we are not at all (at all times) the only group that causes problems out there. I just hink it is time for someone to show them the difference...... Or maybe I am not putting this into the right words..

I have put a little blog out there about this to the non-members on this site. . If there is enough of a response I may still put something together without using the SCS name......

This could in essence turn into an annual ride for rider awareness. And this would put us in the publics eye.

I'm definitely in support of this idea. And I also agree with Pat in term of PR. If we don't get any kind of media coverage, this will be equivalent to a tree falling in the woods with nobody around to hear it.

We need participation fron the other sportbike clubs like S.I.N. and the Ruff Riders to make this a success. There would be no reason not to make this an official SCS event since this type of activity is the epitome of our club focus.

Jerry, we can discuss this futher at our next meeting, but let's keep this dialog going.

I couldn't agree more.

The only thing I would add (at this time).....is that every available patch be seen on bikes for this campaign.

Great call Jerry.
