I'm sure you know the area i'm at. Any suggestions on things to do or see? I have no idea if I will have time to do them, but it never hurts to ask.

Sheeeit! Its been 14 years since I moved out here. When I was home, Times Square wasnt all about Disney. It was about naughty women doing naughty things with strange animals men and objects lol. Hey seriously though on the mellow side, carriage ride through central park and check out the lake in centeral park. As far as views go, nothing like going topside on the Empire State Building. If you go there, be sure to look at the detail in the building. Its from a time when everything wasnt precast crapola. Real tradesmen toiled with hammer and chizels and created true art!
Also hit a cab ride and check out the sights and sounds of China Town. GREAT FOOD! Just dont wander off the beaten path! Little Italy is right next to that. As we all know Italians make the best food on the planet.
I havent been to ground zero but alot of friends have told me its very moving and emotional. Finally my favorite cause Im a hardcore History buff is the south street seaport. You can check out the decommissioned aircraft carrier. The USS Entrepid. LOT of history behind her. Deck is packed with classic planes along with recently added concord. Good stuff.
Enjoy

Almost forgot, if memory serves me right, broadway and west 6th?? General vacinity. Its the village. Lotta head shops and freaks of nature. Few blocks in(you can ask for directions) is Washington Square Park. Great people watching spot. LOADED with freaks and sidewalk shows. Enjoy

Makes me sad to look at those pictures I miss home sooooooooooooo much! If I was you I would for sure go to Time Squard and make sure you go to Central Park that place is so beautiful. The New York Art Museum is also a place to visit and if you get to go there see if Darin Wilkes still work there he was my boss when I was there. Great guy. The city is filled with so much culture and I think that is what I miss the most. Have fun Buck and make sure you bring a piece of NY back for me. Love you!

Thats exactly why I zoomed in and took the picture. It looked like a really sharp contrast of society yadda yadda. I just got back from ground zero a few minutes ago. I'll try to post up the pics ASAP.

Wow, what powerful pics.

Years ago Les went TDY to Oklahoma City and took a bunch of pics of the memorial. They made me get all choked up. These do too. Thanks Buck.

Amazing pictures! Truly moving.
I have not been to ground zero. I dont have the stomach to go. The towers were a part of my youth and teenage years. Been up in them numerous times. From family trips to being downtown up to no good and standing right next to them, face planted up against tower and looking straight up. Just no stomach to go and see the site.
Very moving pics!!

Dont know if you have a good zoom on your camera or not but if you get the chance, could you pop up a few pics of NYC Gargoyals that line alot of the old buildings?
