Yeah, but that makes sense, with the way they tumbled.

What is more impressive to me is how little damage they both received.

My buddy Brian drove by the accident site today while working, stopped and picked up Johns license plate, GOOD WORK MR NHP TROOPER, good thing nobody else picked it up and used it. I can't believe they wouldn't at least pick that up and take it. As far as all the pics, I put them on my phone the other day when jimmy sent them to me and showed John & Judy, he said he really goes big on everything he does... I sure love their sence of humor and great attitude in even the worst of situations. I sure love them

I've been hesitating on getting gauntlet style gloves for too long. That glove pic may have pushed me over the edge.

I got a 20% off one item coupon from Cycle Gear in the mail recently, may want to check for that to save some money.

I am glad we are able to share these images and send our prayers to them..
Speedy Recovery......

Are there any details avail on what actually happened? Was this a gravel thing, or something.....

I have a theory on what happened, here goes:
The air temp was 35 degrees (according to weather.com, google weather, accuweather) yes I checked all 3!

So the road could have been in the 20's or just cool enough to cause freezing conditions, not too far South there was snow on the sides of the roads. Either a car/truck could have carried some snow/ice, leaked some sort of fluid, or there was enough moisture in the air to cause a thin layer of ice on the road, causing the rear tire to loose traction.

Either way, the rear tire did loose traction causing the spill, but what exactly caused the tire to loose traction? I vote for some form of ice. The road was definitely cold, the tires should have been warm enough to stick, so I think there may have been something on the road. There wasn't any visible gravel on the road.

The foot has successfully been re-attached. He does need another surgery to get 2 screws on top of the foot. So far things are great. But he is not out of the woods just yet. It could take up to 6 months to know that answer!

I just wanted to share somethings with everyone.

1. John and I talked a little bit about what happened, and he made me kind of laugh and smile. He said, "you know if I would have taken the turn a little tighter or swung out just a little more or........ oh hell I should have just back the hell down." I just looked at him and we both just kind of grinned.

2. We had discussed earlier that he was running 2CT on his rear end and had a stock front tire. At Moto Cafe they seriously advise against doing something like that simple because of the traction issue. As Ed told a kid before, you can end up pushing the front end and loosing traction on the front end taking the bike down in a turn.

3. John and I were discussing the boot issue and I believe it was his mom who said that he had boots. He then chimed in that he hasn't worn them that often, but he can see how important they are.

Remember we want to try and take as many steps as we can to prevent accidents and protect ourselves as much as possible if we do go down.

I am just glad that are here to learn from this experience. Not to mention the fact that they are both in very good spirits.
