A man who claimed he was refused entry to a Darwin pub because he was too good looking has reportedly had his complaint upheld in a Northern Territory Licensing Commission hearing.

Colin Belle said he was "unfairly victimised" for talking to too many women, the Northern Territory News reports.

"When I go in a bar I guarantee you I stand there — not moving — and 15 women come up to me," he told the Northern Territory News .

"I'm a friendly person, of course I'm going to talk to them."

Mr Belle claimed he was further discriminated against because he is black.

Bouncer Gene Hocking has been given a formal warning for using undue force on Mr Belle when denying him entry into Shenanigans Irish Bar.

Mr Hocking told the hearing that Mr Belle had a history of sexual misconduct against female patrons and that he had previously denied him entry to other venues.

After watching surveillance footage of the incident, the commission ruled that the force used by Mr Hocking was inappropriate.

"On two occasions Mr Belle was pushed to the ground," chairman of the commission, Mr O'Sullivan said.

"The commission does not accept Mr Hocking's submission that Mr Belle's actions at the time constituted a threat to his safety or that physical force was necessary at all to remove Mr Belle from the premises."

The commission recognised Mr Belle's "argumentative and at times somewhat annoying nature" in their decision.

They declined to suspend Mr Hocking's licence, instead issuing a formal warning for breaching the code of practice for crowd controllers.

Marcus is just blessed. That blessing comes with a downside...discrimination. Swingin the LD comes with both advantages and disadvantages. Marcus will be OK.

Being black and having dreads in some foreign countries is money. I didn't even have to try when I was in Europe. Part of the reason I liked going there so much...
