Thought I would take the time and share some pictures that I have taken on my current roadtrip. Famous Newcombs Ranch on the Angeles Crest Highway on the way to LA. ![]() 1st night in Ventura, stayed at a FZ6-Forum member's house. Pictured is four 2006 FZ6's. One rider is from Edmenton Alberta, and the other is from St. Louis. ![]() Check this next photo. While we were stopped at Newcomb's Ranch, I noticed a large staple that had penetrated into one of my friends tire. We met up with a couple of riders up there and one of them offered to donate a brand new tire to him since he is a professional racer. So we folllowed him down to his place in Burbank. Can you imagine us trying to keep up with him? He pretty much sacrificed the remainder of his ride so that we could keep up. The generosity of motorcyclist are truly amazing, as he was a complete stranger. Picture this bike splitting lanes up the 101 to Ventura! LOL... ![]() Thanks to Santa Barbara Powersports. ![]() Refueling in San Louis Obispo ![]() The Hearst Castle Visitor's Center. ![]() Some action shots on Highway 1 up to Monterey. Not easy to ride with one hand and take pictures with the other, while trying to keep up. I nearly ate it a couple of times, LOL....now. ![]() ![]() Taking in ths sunset. ![]() ![]() Now there are five of us.

Ah....Leguna Seca, we were treated like VIP's. The power of the forum. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A top the famous Corkscrew ![]() ![]() Rolling once again. ![]() Me and the Golden Gate Bridge ![]() Soloing up the Oregon Coast. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Well look here, more FZ6's from our Portland/Vancouver area. ![]() I'll be heading up into Canada. Will post more pictures when I get a chance. So do you guys really think I have a chance beating PK for this month as far as mileage? I've been setting my routes in the most roundabout way to do so. Kenny

Those pics were only the beginning. Thanks to Pro Caliber Motorsports in Vancouver Wa, fresh set of tires (Pilot Pures), new chain and rear brake pads, which lasted me over 46,000 miles. ![]() Time to test the new tires out. Went around the Mt. Hood loop. Mt. Hood in the background, covered by clouds. ![]() The famous Timberline Lodge, also known for the movie "The Shining" with Jack Nicholson. ![]() At Cape Disapointment Washington, located at the mouth of the Columbia River between the Oregon/Washington coast. The lighthouse at Cape Disapointment. Notice the clouds that continues to follow me around for my trip. ![]() Met up with another FZ6-Forum member from Beaverton Oregon who accompanied up the Cape. ![]() Just to make sure I beat PK for miles logged for the month of August, I went out of the way to go around the Olympic Peninsula on my way to Vancouver Canada. It was cold, cloudy and at times very misty. ![]() Finally some sunshine. Crescent Lake in the Olympic National Park. ![]() Ferry ride over to Whitney Island across the Puget Sound. ![]()

Border crossing at 2330, I rolled out of Portland at 0700. ![]() Rolled out of Vancouver the next morning at 0700 to Calgary via up Whistler. The road was great with plenty of scenery. ![]() The road from Whistler to Kamloops was awesome. Plenty of hair pin turns and of course scenery. ![]() Here's a picture of the spot that I should have crashed. Coming over a crest going about 60mph, no warning except for sign that said "Rocks", but the sign should have said Pavement Ends! The amount of distance I had to slow down in the gravel shown in this picture before negotiating the gravely hair pin turn does no justice. ![]() Ah, Lake Louise in Alberta. Notice the same cloud that has been hovering me the entire trip. Ran into a huge rain storm going up the Canadian Rockies. Most of the towns along the way lost power due to the 70 mph winds. Downed trees littered the highway. No worries, my FZ can hold over 5 gallons of fuel, can go over 250 miles on one tank. ![]() Wish I could say this was my hotel for the night, but NOT! Way too expenive. ![]() Banff National Park is Incredible!!!! ![]() ![]() The town of Banff, very cool. I will be back. ![]() I ended up rolling into Calgary around midnight. 750 miles today.

From Calgary onto Bozeman Mt. I planned to go through Glacier National Park in Montana but the weather was so crappy with rain, I passed. I stilll got drenched. Those Pilot Pures did very well in the rain as I was zipping around the wet curves on the interstate at 75mph. Next day off to Vegas via Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. ![]() Famous Old Faithful, waste of time. Burned an hour for this? ![]() ![]() Rolling towards the Grand Tetons. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Jackon Wyoming where I stopped for a late lunch. Ran into all the bikers coming back from Sturgis. ![]()

My bike ran like a champ! Almost 4600 miles in eleven days. ![]() My mileage from Bozeman after 19.5 hours. Almost an Iron Butt, ![]() The Yamaha FZ6, truly an amazing bike. Does it all. It's my commuter, a tourer, and next week, a sportbike hitting the twisties down at Palomar Mountain. I bought the bike brand new for $7,000 in April of 2007. At 50,000miles, no issues at all. Just too bad they discontinued it after 2009.

Welcome to Vegas Krid & Lone - Yamaha FZ6 Forums - International FZ6 Motorcycle Community Forum Rider's only get half the potential of their motorcycles IMO unless they don't go on a real long roadtrip. Or it's like saying that if you have a sportbike and don't do a trackday, you're missing out half the fun. Since my bike can do both, the roadtrip was awesome. Met a lot of great people along the way. The motorcycle community is very tight, especially when everyone is on a roadtrip. Hard to explain, you will just have to do it yourself one day.

I recognize the photos from Banf and the Fairmont Castle/Hotel/Shopping Center. I can't really describe how nice it is out there - I def. need to go back some time. Did you take time to relax in the hot springs?

So I was thinking that would be two reasons to head north!

| When I was soloing, it was a brutal pace. I stretched my rides too far apart considering the fact that I needed some time to take pictures and spend some time at certainl places. Not sure if some of you would have been able to keep up? Remember, I don't have to pull over every 100 miles, more like 250. Well, I'm off to LA & Palomar Mt in Southern Ca this Friday, be back Sunday. Anyone is welcome to come. Going to ride with the Southern California members, they know the roads real well to a point that I'm never riding blind.
