I had to fix the dent in the tank and couldn't stand the ugly rash so I stripped it all off and went plain Jane on for the paint. I'm so sad but Galore will reappear once I get new track plastics and she will be better than ever.

Thanks fellas!

The fairings look good from a distance but believe they are beat up lol. When I started sanding them chunks of resin started popping off everywhere so I made do with what I had since I sanded off the paint which apparently was holding everything together lol.

Sketch, I'm thinking about picking up some race plactics for the Gixxer. Anything I should know about to make a decent looking paint job? I've got an air compressor, and will buy a spray gun, but I've never painted anything like this before so I'm very much green to the whole process.

Yeah I'll help you when it comes time to paint it. You are going to be is great shape with a new set of fairings. The prep work will be super easy as all you will need to do is scuff the factory primer.*

As far as designs/stickers what do you have in mind? Using graphic tape is fun if you have time and patience!

Get a good two part paint(has a hardener), the crap you buy at a auto parts store is not going to last very long and is not chemicle resistant. I spent $200 on paint supplies at Deangelo's auto paint supply and got two colors and clearcote all the activator and other chemicals as well as a respirator which you will need unless you want to fry your lungs.*

After you spray your base colors you need to shoot the clear. Once the clear cures then you are going to need to wet sand with 1500 grit paper followed by a polishing compound.*

All easy just labor intensiv.

I have a basic paint gun If you would like to use it let me know.*
