ADVrider Relay - North America - On The Road - ADVrider

Looking for riders to ride part of this relay. We need to pick up the mascot around the 16th of June, most likely at Hoover Dam from the Az. rider and ride around our landmarks, take pictures then I'll head to Ca. and do the same returning back through the high desert near Tonapah, and hopefully handing off to another Nv. rider to ride the E.T. hwy then to St. George, Ut. to deliver the mascot around the 20th of June to the Ut. rider. Please!! only interested riders post your availability.

This actually sounds pretty cool. I'm kinda interested... The map doesn't show Pooey going too far into Cali or Nevada, but I still may be up for it. Just no Iron Butt rides.

That part hasn't been set up yet, that's what I'm supposed to do.
This is the basic idea;
I plan on handling the Ca. route myself, since I know Vegas riders are allergic to loooonnnnngggg rides. What would be cool is to have a rider pick up the mascot at Hoover Dam and hit our local spots, Redrock, summit, Valley of Fire, etc... on the 1st day.

On the 1st or 2nd day, I take it to Ca. through Mammoth, Yosemite and maybe the coast, if I feel froggy.

On the 3rd day I'll return to Nv. from the central sierras to Tonapah and meet up with another rider and hopefully a gas crew for the ride to St. George by way of the E.T hwy. If you're interested in any part of this, let me know.

fit. We have organized eager volunteers to relay, via their motorcycles, a “baton”, a waterproof case containing a
“mascot”, pictures, logs and other items. The goal is to gather sponsors and contributions to riders.org while
riding in and through:
• Each of the United States
• The Canadian Provinces and Territories
• New Zealand
• Australia
• India
• Turkey
• Scotland
The list of riders from additional countries continues to grow as word spreads in our community. This relay starts
May 16th 2008 at one of our Rallies in North Carolina with the US and Canadian legs finishing in August of 2008
and will continue on to many other places. During each leg of the relay, riders will take photographs, write online
journals, log points of interest or include something about their region or the ride; Motorcycle rallies and
enthusiast gatherings get special attention. These photos and stories will be prominently featured in an
accompanying thread.
We hope you will consider donating to this worthy cause in aid of Riders for Health. Business, Corporate and
personal sponsors will be prominently featured in the original thread post and you may possibly gain prominent
display of your logo on the case in sticker form. It will be seen across the world.
The ADVRider Relay, including the volunteer rider’s expenses, is completely self-funded. 100% of the donations

health care they so desperately need.
For the majority of people living in rural communities, the mobility of public health workers can mean the
difference between life and death. For the people of Africa who live far from towns and major centres, the
distances are vast and the best roads are little better than dirt-tracks. Even when vehicles are available, they
quickly break down if no-one has the expertise or resources to maintain them.

You just need someone to accompany you around with the mascot?? I think i might keep you company brotha! Can you shoot me a more summarized plan of action? This sounds like a lot of fun, if we get enough people they will post up special sections of the ride with the info? looks like a great spot for SCS to throw their name in..

I pretty much have the plan ready, We're just waiting on the riders from New Mexico to get there shit together. Then Az. can firm up their plans and I can firm up Nv. and Ca.

The Nv. portion will be to pick up the mascot from Hoover Dam on the 16th of June and a ride around our local sites; the lake, Valley of Fire, Redrock and a jaunt down to the strip. On the 17th, I head to Ca. do the transfer to the Ca. riders then they transfer back to me at Mono Lake, near Tioga Pass for the trip to St George.

This sounds like quite an undertaking. That is a lot of riders to coordinate. Should be fun though.

Yes it is but anything worth doing takes some effort. It's a great idea and a great charity being supported. Fortunately we have alot of can do type personalities working together from all over the world to make this happen. Since I've got the ride and riders in my areas set-up, now it's time to use my charming personality to line up donations.
