I Ride: 2005 Suzuki Hayabusa LE/2007 Suzuki GSXR600/2000 Honda CBR600F4


It's BAAAAAACK!!!

Well... since this will be the first Thursday after DST comes into effect, it's time to mount up once again and take a nice, relaxed ride around our favorite scenic loop!

Meet Up Time/Date: 5:45pm Thursday, March 12th - Kickstands up at 6:00pm!
Meet Up Spot: The Chevron across from the Red Rock Casino. MAP

Route: Charleston/159 to the Red Rock Scenic Loop entrance. Through the loop... maybe one more trip through the loop. Stop off at the Overlook and kick back for a sec. Eventually head back in town and stop by Starbucks/Port A Subs/Pizza Hut/Tropical Smoothie Cafe for a while to recharge and talk bikes and life.

We all can make excuses why we can't ride, so let's make some excuses to get out and enjoy the evening temps!

Oh yea... and for you hardcore Red Rock fans, I made a Social Group just for you!

I Ride: Currently shopping for bike. Had 07 R6, 78 DS 125, 02 600r, 05 R6
If theres no overtime Thursday, and my ex wife doesnt come into town looking to suck my soul out through my ear, and drag it off to hell with her, then I'm in.

The loop might be closing at 6pm.
They have not been following up with their own posted times (March should close at 7pm)

Well... Red Rock was closed when we went by at 6:00pm. Great sushi at Sushi at Rainbow, though. Note to self... don't order the Extreme Super Monster Roll if you want to get served anytime soon... right PK?

A buddy and I are headed your way to ride Red Rock and Hoover dam. I was looking for information about what rides/roads to take and when. We will be arriving this Tuesday, early afternoon.

I was at the gas station @ 5:30 and no one else showed up. I stayed until 5:40, went and checked the overlook but didn't see anyone I recognized, went and rode the loop before it closed and then went back to the overlook for 30 minutes. Sorry I missed whoever was out today...

I thought I read that last week, RR was closed at 6pm. But of course I didnt read that until I already had my bike sitting in the driveway, ready to go today.

yeah, I was there last week too, remember??? I was just under the impression it was a standing thing every Thursday @ the Chevron @ 5:30. That's what I get for ASS-U-Ming!

The Thursday rides are always posted for each day independently.
If you dont see a post for the specific date, then it is not on.

But, fear not....
I think they finally shifted to 7pm closing.
I'll find out, and if it is, then it will be on every Thursday (still with its own post for every date).

Well I wasnt really going for the ride. To be honest, I dont like riding the loop unless I'm going to stick to the speed limit. I've been in that loop once in the past 2 years. I just feel like an ass if I'm zooming thru there and others are riding their bicycles or walking cause its supposed to be safer in there.

I was going to go just to hang out at the overlook and then kick it for a while at starbucks afterwards with some buddies.

True Dat! But you don't have to speed to have fun, most people can't even go the 35mph through the turns, anyone can go fast in a straight line, it's the turns that make things interesting!
