Does SCS have any group rides or events planned for the River run this weekend?

http://www.lightningcustoms.com/laug...errun2006.html

If not, does anyone want to get together ( ) for a small informal ride?

You guys have fun... Hangin out with a crap load of bikers who don't much care for our life style isn't exactly the scene I want to be a part of. Besides, the road to Laughlin is boring and heavily patrolled.

On a side note, the women in Lake Havasu this weekend were pretty hot!

if anyone from the club goes, remove your patch or wear a jacket without a patch. a no-patch rule is being enforced!

Depending on how many sportbikes are willing to head up there I am in...

Maybe when we post these rides we should have a survey at top that says in or out...

Anyone looking to ride to Laughin is more than welcome to come along with myself(Randy) and Larry, along with a few others. We both have the copper colored busa's from the big group ride to Kingman. We are meeting Saturday morning at 9am at the 7-11 at Craig and Lossee and rolling at 9:30. We went last year with about 15 bikes and had great time.

A few of the Ruff Ryders are going out there for a down and back. We are not taking off until 1030 though. We can't seem to get up any earlier. We will see a few of you there.

So what is the word on the Patch wearing situation? I heard you cant wear colors into the hotels but that is all I know. Should we just leave them at home?

70,000 expected at Laughlin River Run
Highway Patrol, police plan large presence
By BRIAN HAYNES REVIEW-JOURNAL

Tens of thousands of leather-clad, Harley-riding men and women will flood into Southern Nevada this weekend for the 24th annual Laughlin River Run.

Authorities expect more than 70,000 people to ride into the Colorado River town 80 miles southeast of Las Vegas for what is billed as the West's largest gathering of motorcycle lovers.

Law enforcement agencies from Southern Nevada and neighboring Arizona plan a large presence of police officers throughout the weekend to deal with the usual unruliness and prevent the kind of deadly violence that marred the 2002 event.

That year, tensions between members of the Hell's Angels and Mongols biker gangs erupted inside Harrah's Laughlin, sparking a brawl that ended with three dead and a dozen wounded.
Spokesmen for the Metropolitan Police Department and the Nevada Highway Patrol said they have no indication that outlaw biker gangs plan any violence during this year's event.

"It looks like everyone, at this point, plans to be on their best behavior; but there's always potential," trooper Kevin Honea said.
The Highway Patrol plans to have more than 25 extra troopers patrolling the highways in and around Laughlin, including U.S. Highway 95 and Needles Highway, he said.

Las Vegas police wouldn't reveal their staffing but said officers will be on foot, on horses, in cars and undercover to catch unruly revelers, drunken drivers and motorcycle thieves.

Police also will enforce a 6 p.m. curfew for children without a legal guardian.

Forecasts called for climbing temperatures that will creep through the 90s and could hit triple digits by Sunday.
