Anyone want to join up with me and some of my old cronies for a little spin around the loop??? Maybe a trip up the summit? An old friend say`s he will buy me dinner if my 06 Gixer-750 can beat his 01 ZX-900 in a roll on race. I`m trying to decide if I want Filet Mingon or Lobster. See you at the overlook at 8am.

July 30th? Isn't that a wee tad in future to be posting? Yeah, we'll be back from MotoGP at Laguna Seca by then.

I've heard RR and the Summit are cool places to ride around here. I'll give it a try if I'm not too tired from riding in California.

From Sport Rider - http://www.sportrider.com/bikes/performance/

ZX-9R ('00)
quarter mile -10.06 @ 138.96
top speed -173.5

No specs on the Gixxer here, but this should be a decent race if the ZX-9 rider knows what he's doing.

how long are you guys gonna be up at RR? i'm gonna hit up another spot (the one from the video) early in the morning (6-6:30) then i'll head out to RR.
oh & i had a 98 zx9r (10.07 1/4 mile- sportcyclist #s) & i raced it against my 05 gsxr 750 (10.38 1/4 mile #s-same mag) the zx9r had the lead till the end of 2nd, then the 750 pulled it, we even switched bikes to make sure it wasn't the riders. so my money is on the 750. from a roll should be even worse.

Some people are meeting at the chevron on the corner of lakemead and Hollywood at 5:30AM then heading out to the lake for a bit at 6:00. I think the plan is to go from there to the RR get together but I'm not sure.

It was a good time for all, except for some harley rider who was to drunk to ride. As he was leaving the mountain springs tavern, I heard that he had bumped into a guard rail at 5 mph and almost fell over. What I do know is that further down the hill he smacked the guard rail hard and totaled his bike and himself pretty bad. open wounds on his back and swelling that looked like something was broken inside. Thank god he was wearing full harley riding gear. You know, wife beater shirt and brain bucket. I do hope the guy makes it okay, I do hate to see any rider go down, even if he was being a drunken idiot.

A few of us kept going up to the pub to enjoy the cool air for a minute. The harley guy stalled his bike in the lot, then hit the guard rail on the way out. For some reason, he and his friend determined that it was a good idea to continue trying to ride... the pics show the result

Thanks for making our insurance go up.

Anyway, we took a vid at the loop after the summit incident.

It's not a great run, but oh well. We'll do more later.
