hey guys,

I was talking to a guy spectating @ the trackday yesterday about roads over the spring mountains.
I noticed on google earth there's a 3rd road about 5-10 miles up 95N called cold creek road/wheeler pass.
he was telling me there's a shorter way around mt.charleston than taking 95 -160---that there's actually a smaller road that runs out of pahrump and hooks up with wheeler pass rd/cold creek/172...

can anyone confirm this?

Unless that road has been upgraded, which I doubt, it's a 4 wheel drive road. It also gets snowed in during the winter, and is not maintained.

Wheeler/Cold creek pass do go over the mountain but it's 4WD vehicles only, it is graded but no way you would want to do it on a street bike.

ya...

I rode up cold creek canyon road to about 6,000ft. to the little mountain village and saw that wheeler pass road was all dirt....

wish I had a dirt bike to go explore the off-road scene.

I did see wild horses all over the place (I didn't they roamed in wild packs like that anymore...coolness).
