This club is established to create a safe environment for sport bike riders. To keep and maintain an upstanding image to the general public as well as law enforcement agencies. To provide support for all motorcyclist for any reason. To protect your rights as a motorcyclist in your everyday life. To be a part of a club also has benefits such as meeting new people, new friendships, and a brotherhood as a motorcyclist in a four wheeled world. Rules of the Club to be obeyed by all members:
We ride motorcycles and all of us know the dangers involved so these rules are set forth to protect all Club members, Club families, other riders, and other people at all times. We all have seen a lot of people young and old get hurt on motorcycles because of carelessness, disregard of safety, and the most importantly, sheer stupidity.
Any illegal drug use will not be tolerated! If you are on or use any type of illegal drug you will be dismissed from all Club function or meetings permanently, no exceptions. Please do not ride/drive if you are under the influence of any controlled substance.
Alcohol is permissible at functions or gatherings that DO NOT INVOLVE RIDING, DRIVING or GROUP RIDES. Under aged drinking will not be tolerated. Keep in mind you are responsible for your own actions. The Club does not condone consumption of alcohol in any activity that involves the operation of a motorized vehicle. Please do not drink and ride/drive.
Meetings will be held once every month. Try to attend every meeting to assure you are aware of Club events.
When traveling to and from a function there will be no horseplay on the bikes such as wheelies or stoppies. There is a time and place for stunts. Functions aren’t one of them.
When a ride occurs all members must do a head counts to assure members arrive at determined location. Stops during the ride will assure this. Do not break off a ride with out anybody knowing you are doing so. We will not leave anyone behind!
The state and local laws shall be obeyed due to the fact that we are trying to clean up the image of bikers in general. Many motorcyclist and motorcycle groups have a total disregard for the laws provided to ensure safe roadways. Besides, it’s bad enough we have to ride with people not paying attention in cars let alone the guy riding next to you.
Signals will be used to communicate between riders.
§ Need gas: point to other member to gas tank.
§ Speed trap or cop: tap helmet.
§ Turn signal left on: blinking motion with hand.
§ Object on the road: point on side with foot.
§ Pass me: wave hand from back of bike to front.
§ Problem with bike: raise left hand and pull over slowly. Do not suddenly get on brakes.
§ Slow down: lower down hand motion to ground
Rides will be grouped in to three categories: Expert, intermediate, and rookie. You chose what group is right for you but remember to stay within your limits.
As a Club member you can sponsor a new rider in the Club. Only one sponsor at a time. You must teach he or she these Club items. He will be known as your little brother/sister. For your pledge to become a member he or she must be voted in by all members. This is a prestigious way to enter the Club and your choice should be thought out with great care. If any no votes occur a council will be formed to determine membership. Disciplinary Council:
This will be held if a member lodges a complaint against another Club member.
To lodge a complaint you must talk to an office-holding member. They will determine if the complaint is valid. If complaint is valid the office member must call disciplinary council.
The council will consist of all office holding members as well as two members from Club. These two members will be chosen randomly unless they are involved with the complaint. Action will be ruled on by council. Suspension or removal from Club will follow.
If the complaint is lodged against an office holder a council meeting will be held with the entire Club in attendance. The Club will rule on action taken. Removal from Office, suspension, and /or termination from Club will result. Dues: (please also refer to amendment 3)
The Club will have input on dues and then the final vote. The dues should be kept to a minimal amount. Most monies generated for Club will come from fundraisers. All monies will be regulated and logged by Secretary and Treasurer. These funds will be kept in a joint account. Conclusion:
This is a new club and not every thing could be covered in this bi-law packet. Issues that may arise will be documented and recorded, later be place in the bi-laws. This club is set forth for the members to have a good time and to enjoy themselves during events and activities. These bi-laws are in place to insure this.
Have fun, ride safe, and... See you when we get there. Amendments: 1.Resigning SCS Club Membership
