The beginners class at Willow is included in the price of the track day for level one riders...it's FREE! It is very basic...but it's FREE!

They will not be covering body positioning in the detail that we will at the MARS event. Plus Lee will be teaching at the MARS event, his stuff is a bit more evolved.

The MARS event will get you ready for the track day, get your body positioning in order and teach you how to set your suspension.

I think, for a more experienced rider, having the one on one at the track and someone to help with lines is the most beneficial part.

The two compliment not replace each other.

Bought and paid for! See you fools on the track! Anybody who needs a ride, let me know. I'm planning on heading down Sunday evening. I have a room w/ 2 beds at the Hampton in Lancaster if anybody needs. Cost is $65 for the night. (does not include spooning)

Dude... you're such a tease.

Will you have access to the trailer we used last year?

Yeah, but it includes free breakfast!

What about John Sullivan's ATV Trailor that's out on the ramp? I just used it last week to haul back some MRB crates and it's perfect to haul at least four-five bikes.

I would have been in but I'll be up in Oregon/Washington that weekend. 3000miles in four days, yahoo! IBA, here I come.

Got my ID in the mail.... What's the word on trailers? UHaul rents them for about $20 a day.

Rent from Uhaul but tell them it is local. They don't like trailers crossing the border!

Got my ID card yesterday...

Im working on securing some trailers...the TANK (we used this before for Willow, 4 bikes), and another enclosed trailer that might fit 6, or possibly 10 bikes.

But, Uhaul is still an option if we need it.

We will be ironing out the hotel situation soon.

Before you guys go out and buy all your rooms, are any of you planning on doubling up on your roomies? If so, you could prob get better pricing/rooms buy teaming up..

Hotels and transportation we will figure out as it gets closer to the track day.

This isnt like nascar, or some huge convention, there will be plenty of hotels/motel rooms to go around.

Id hate to see some of you guys paying 80 bucks for 1 bedroom when you could have gotten a 2 bedroom for 15 bucks more and split the cost..

Just a thought...motel 6 has rooms for 35 bucks, 40 bucks for 2 beds.

Devonshire Inn is kind of a shithole, but it's not too bad. Plus it's close to the track and next to the closest gas station.

I'm still waiting to access the site also. Still don't have my login and pass (though I think I know what it will be once it's working).

Getting a little more prepared...
Bought and waiting for tires (Cycle Gear were out of stock) and tank grips. If I'm lucky I'll have them on Thursday at RR.

For all those taking the beginner class...
Here is the schedule.
I suggest everyone go on the track sighting lap they have at the end of the lunch hour.
You hop on a truck, and they drive slowly through the track showing you the lines, markers, and best ways to approach each turn. They stop on some of them and you can walk the turn, and ask questions.

Schedule

7:00am: Gates Open

Enter the gates, Pay admission to Willow Springs

7:15am: Registration/Tech Inspection open

Please check in and get your bike inspected by tech inspection. You will sign your liability waiver and update us on any information that has changed.

8:05am: Track Introduction and Orientation laps

9:00am: 1st Classroom Session (30 minutes)

· Flag rules

· Extended safety rules

· Riding lines

· Target fixation

9:40am: On track riding

10:00am: 2nd Classroom Session (30 minutes)

· Body Positioning

10:40am: On track riding

11:00am: 3rd Classroom Session (30 minutes)

· Turning

· Braking

· Throttle Control

11:40am: On track riding

12:00pm: Track Closed, Lunch Break

We are closed for lunch so even the corners works can take a break. We will have a track ride with limited open spots at 12:30 to ride around and look at the track up close.

12:20pm: Optional Truck Ride

Come take a ride with us on the back of a truck and see the track up close.

1:00pm: 4th Classroom Session (30 minutes)

· Answer questions and give feedback.

1:40pm: On track riding

2:20pm: Open Track with Lucas Oil Group (40 minutes)

3:20pm: Open Track with Lucas Oil Group (40 minutes)

4:00pm: Open Track with all groups

5:00pm: Track Closed, Shutdown

I'm working on getting transportation sorted out for all the bikes.

We are all staying at the Devonshire inn. Rosamond, CA.
Born2run posted their phone a few posts up.

Vegasvideo, born2run, the ky, and I, are set on rooms.

You guys figure out how you want to share rooms, and call the Devonshire to book the rooms. Ask for the Willow springs track discount.

Top post updated with registration and lodging status for INs.

KY, why dont you book at the devonshire Inn. That way we're all at the same hotel.
Its only $10 more, and split between 2 would only be $5 more peer person.
But, its 5 miles from the track, and they have secure parking for trucks/trailers, which they lock at night.

They also have free breakfast (continental style - muffins, danish, juice, bananas, etc...)
