When we were at Willow Springs last weekend with Cal-Sportbike, we got some class room time with Jason Curtis. Which, by the way, was very cool. Anyway, after the class gixxergirl and I were speaking with him and he said that he recently had, "arm pump surgery." and he showed us these long scars on both sides of his arms.

Of course, we ask, what is arm pump surgery? Apparently it is a selective surgery to increase your fascial compartments in your forearms to allow your muscles to expand. You can read more about it here:

I just thought that this was interesting to see people go as far as altering their bodies permanently just so they can ride a motorcycle better/faster. Granted, he pays the bills by riding motorcycles, I just think that this is pretty wild.

Josh: I'll do it if you do!

Surgery so you can look like Popeye? Zoinks... But if it helps, i guess it is worth it for the professionals and it is a legal way to gain more muscle mass. Interesting idea.

Same old thing......... more muscle mass more to pump up...... Mr. Pheer is right , motoxer's have had this problem and surgery for years now , I've found that if you hold your breath alot while riding tends to make it worse without surgery, my fix was, pottassium pills, or lots of banana's and twist the throttle and relax and breathe , I know it sounds funny but I know for a fact that while racing m-x people actually forget to breathe ( from personal experience.) Not funny when ya can't hold onto the bars anymore
