Well....here is a little synopsis....

Went up Friday night and stayed the night at the truck stop there. Come to find out we could have gone into the pits the whole time! Doh! No biggy. Saturday came and the going got on....or something. Went out and got used to the track. Was only my second trackday on the Classic Course so I still need a bit of practice on it. Everything was going good and I stopped about midday to save my tires for the race on Sunday. We sat back and watched everyone else and watched the rest of the airshow. Sunday rolls around and I'm feeling a little nervous now. I get two 10 minute practices and I only did one because of the tires again. Had to wait a few hours for the other races to go and then mine came up. My brother, his girlfriend and her son showed up so now I have a little cheering section and I've got bad butterfly action. I was gridded in back because it was based on points and I didn't have any. It was a pretty big grid. I didn't care. I don't mind letting the big rush get into turn 1 first. Launch went good but could have been way better. Got passed a few guys and made it through turn 1 with no incidents. For about 4 of the 8 laps I couldn't get into fourth gear so that held me up really bad. On the back straight, instead of going 135+ I'm now going 123. Yikes! Noone caught me and towards the last couple laps fourth gear started to work again! Woohoo! The white flag comes out and I have a guy in my sights. Last lap, its gotta happen. I take him on the outside of turn 2 and rocket past trying my best to stay smooth and collected. Made it to the finish line with flying colors. In the end, ended up like 16th or 17th. . I'm just glad I finished and completed my provisional novice license. I now have my full novice license. Next season already starts January 7th at Cal Speedway!!

Good job Greggie! Sounds like you fought through some adversity. So are you going to tear down your gearbox?

Good question. As of this moment, no. That could change though. I wish there was a way I could reproduce it without being on the track.

What a crock. Sure wish Mike was out there instead. The pictures are good, but $25.00 PER picture for an email quality file and $75.00 PER picture for a hi-res digital file versus $40 from Mike for a picture cd of all the pictures. Their motto..."These Custom Photographs Are Not Expensive They Are Priceless." No no, they are just expensive. Mike, I know your not god, but why can't you be everywhere at once?

Good job Gregg... if i would have been thinking about your tire situation a little clearer i would have given you a front Michy Slick or a Dunlop 208GP. I know i am a ASS!!!! but it just now hit me when i left the garage.

Thanks for the compliments. I actually think i could have gone faster. But I was running a old 209GP up front that had 2 practices and 2 races from CCS back in May, 1 trackday from Miller in June and I had ran on the same front that entire Sat then took a gamble on it for the 3 races. I would still do a trackday on it in a heart beat. I never felt any pushes or front slides.

I hope they have more trackdays at the vegas course next year.

Are you doing the WERA West season next year.
